About the video:
The Rational Response Squad recently was asked to respond to claims that Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron could prove that god exists without invoking faith or the bible. Comfort and Cameron failed at this claim. This reel is the highlights as seen through the eyes of the RRS. The entire 1.5 hour debate is available at http://www.ABCNews.com

Yes there was a painter... BUT... painter was MATERIAL (not like UNMATERIAL God :). MATERIAL painter is proof that MATER itself (not UNMATERIAL God) has creation feature inside. Believers almost always trying to prove UNMATERIAL(!) God with MATERIAL(!) examples (like this with painter). It is even worse than trying to prove existence of apple with ...brick. Believers must prove their UNMATERIAL God with UNMATERIAL examples. Small notice: even wind is movement of MATER and electricity is MATERIAL too. Examples with MATERIAL watchmaker or painter prove exactly what believers tries to deny... that MATER (MATERIAL objects) is capable to create by changing its forms (when some part of mater interact and have impact on another parts of mater). I live in a small town in Tyler Tx.
It is unbelieveably ignorant and dogmatic about religion. I have been saying the things you guys are saying for the past 5 years. The more I study the Bible and Bible history the more I become enlighten how we have all been scamed. I have been married to my high school sweet heart for 17 years, never had an affair, love my kids, never killed anyone and never really believed in god. Keep up the good work!

I would have taken every ounce of my energy not to drag both those bible thumping morons out in the alley. They use the same old circular arguments and canned christian responses.
It is not our duty to disprove god. We do not claim he exists.
The bible is good for 2 things.
1. rolling paper
2. toilet paper

1. The reason that the 'painting and painter' analogy is wrong and inappropriate is because paintings do not reproduce, and we do.
2. The universe is not infinite. It began, and it will end. There is proof for this. There is none for God beyond a highly historically inaccurate book.

Whenever I hear these people trying to defend something that's soooo absurd,it's kind of sad that these adults want to cling too the MAKE-BELIVE world that small children are supposed to grow out of,because it can be very dentralmental to the growth of the child,if thier natural wonderment about LIFE is squashed by some DOGMA they never grow-up.

I have huge admiration for people who can stand up in a public forum and debate off the cuff, but you really have to spend many hours researching the arguments, watching and reading pro-religious material and having discussions with theists in order to be able to come up with the best approaches. Example: The 'paintings need a painter' argument would have been much better countered with the simple response:

Dogma appears to be unsurmountable. Check out the science networks 'beyond belief' <http://thesciencenetwork.org/>. Whilst there doesn't appear to be an empirical rational to changing peoples belief in the supernatural, some of the lectures might help us all understand the problems
